Zonhoven (BE) based technology company Melotte, confirmed its revolutionary shift in metal manufacturing.
After being rewarded with the local VOKA Innovation Award in 2009, the ITM Award for best practices in Manufacturing and being Cleantech ambassador, Melotte's CEO Mario Fleurincks (Young Entrepreneur of 2010) innovative vision today is published 50th of hundred cases in Günter Pauli's business model of The Blue Economy
This new generation of entrepreneurs like Mario Fleurinck:
Thanks to Melotte's revolutionary technology of Direct Digital Manufacturing (DDM), the company is able to produce high-end machine parts, medical implants and a wide range of dental prostheses to even complex aerospace devices and integrated tooling solutions, simply layering metal powder through laser fusion.
This breakthrough provokes also a major shift in the job market.
As a digital factory, Melotte uses technology that will be very common within fifteen to twenty years.
So the next years Melotte's CEO Mario Fleurinck wants to go further and build an integrated global and digital production platform that confirms the basic values and provides a solution for the complexities that were until today only considered viable in nature.

This infographic shows both the ecological and economical impact of analogue dental production on a global scale and its digital local equivalent developed by Melotte.
The breakthrough evolved by this innovation of reduced material use by factor twelve will force unsustainable
business models to rethink their manufacturing concepts' energy consumption. This revolution empowers economic models that cycle all materials in an efficient, valuable and sustainable manner.
A full reuse of all metals combined with a dramatic improvement of quality of service and speed of delivery allows for a competitive and ecological production and consumption system.
Within the last two years, Melotte manufactured 10,000 units of dental prostheses for the dental market offering highest precision with only a fraction of raw materials and waste (See infographic on the right).
